Jason Schmidt whiffed 12 batters and Jeromy Burnitz had 2 base hits as the Dyersville Jurassics beat the London Hawk Lords by a score of 2 to 0. Schmidt(16-10) was on top of his game. He surrendered only 1 hit and 4 walks in 8 and 2/3 innings. The pitchers took over after the 2nd inning as neither team was able to score again. Schmidt got help from Joe Nathan who earned his 22nd save. Jeff Weaver(9-21) was the loser. He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up 10 hits and 3 walks in 7 and 1/3 innings. Rob Danecker was upset after the game. 'I don't like to complain but did you see that umpires strike zone?', he said. 'Maybe they ought to start calling the strike zone the way it's printed in the rule book.'
